The Eyes of Sibiu will be on you at every turn if The Eyes of Sibiu will be on you at every turn if you visit this unique city in Transylvania 👁️👁️ Many of the rooftops here have narrow window slits cut into them, with a dark opening in the centre which makes them look like eyes watching you 👀 In fact, these windows were designed for ventilation purposes as items such as grain, meats, and cheeses were stored in the attics. This design let air flow through the attic without allowing too much sunlight to enter 🪟 The windows have a history dating back to the 15th century, but most of the ones seen today are from the 19th century 😳 Have you seen the Eyes of Sibiu before? Sibiu is one of the most visited cities in Romania Sibiu is one of the most visited cities in Romania, so it’s certainly worth spending at least one night here during a trip to Romania 🙌🏼 We found a beautiful luxurious four bedroom guesthouse to stay in, located only a 10 minute walk from the walls of the old town 🚶🏼‍♀️ @kesletz.house is situated in a mid-century building that’s been lovingly renovated. Our room, the Bibliotheque Suite, is very spacious and pays homage to the original purpose of the room - a library.
