If you have some spare time while visiting Copenha

If you have some spare time while visiting Copenhagen, you can’t beat a day trip to Kronborg Castle in Helsingor 🏰

The first castle at this strategic location was built in the 15th century but the beautiful Renaissance castle that stands today dates back to the 16th century 🧱

As well as being on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Kronborg Castle was also the setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet 💀

If you have the Copenhagen Discover Card, both the train ride to Helsingor and entry to the castle are free 💪🏼

Did you know that the Copenhagen University Librar

Did you know that the Copenhagen University Library is the oldest library in Denmark? 🤔

It was founded in 1482 and since then it has undergone a series of transformations as its collections grew 📚

The library is open to the public, but there’s an entry fee of 75 DKK. Visitors are allowed to walk around the library as well as read any books they like 🤓

The @visitcopenhagen Discover Card is one of the city’s best kept secrets 🤫

The card includes access to 80+ attractions in Copenhagen and within the Capital Region. It also includes unlimited public transportation (to and from the airport as well) 👍🏼

We used the 72 hours card which costs €124/919 DKK and can be downloaded right to your phone using their app 🎟️

Here are the attractions we used the Discover Card for as well as their standard entry fees ⬇️

Tivoli Gardens (200 DKK)
Rosenborg Palace and Treasury (140 DKK)
Stromma Canal Tour (109 DKK)
Kronborg Castle (145 DKK)

While there may not be a lot of sunlight to enjoy, there are still plenty of things to see and do around the Danish capital to keep you busy. This includes stopping at several cozy cafes along the way ☕️
